"Today, 7th and 8th grade leaders went on a trip to Shaws in Plaistow NH. We talked to many executives, a member of the NH Food Bank, and a representative from Explore Act Tell. We discussed the stigma around hunger and food insecurity. Together, we discussed the Old SaltBox Food Pantry Program and what we have done with it. We learned that Explore Act Tell is located in 15 different states and has many different partnerships. Talking about the different community donations and how they help people with hunger was very inspiring. We were surprised with a check from Shaws giving the Old SaltBox Pantry $400 along with a donation made in the name of Hampstead School District for $2,500 to the New Hampshire Food Bank. This donation to the food bank will provide approximately 4,687 meals to families suffering from food insecurity. This made us feel proud to help so many people and families.” - Kendall L., Valentina C., Emelyn L.,, Keelyn K., Madelyn P., Jackson B., Cole M. and Tighe W., 7th & 8th Grade Student Leaders.
